The MER Self-Empowerment Training is a professional Myofascial Energetic Release module focused on the back, neck, pelvis and breath.

Taught by Satyarthi Peloquin, founder of MER, this hands-on training introduces a powerful method of deep bodywork, fascia release, breath awareness and spinal integration.

During the MER Self-Empowerment Training, you will learn how to:

The Self-Empowerment module is one of the core modules of the MER Professional Training pathway.

This module focuses on the back, neck, pelvis and breath — areas that are often deeply connected with chronic pain, postural imbalance, movement restriction and emotional holding.

Through structured demonstrations, hands-on practice, body reading, palpation, breathwork and guided exchanges, you will learn how to release and integrate the spine while supporting the client’s natural capacity for movement, balance and self-regulation.

The work combines deep touch, fascia release, myofascial unwinding, breath regulation, and body awareness.

  • Recognize how fascial contraction and long-held tension patterns can contribute to chronic pain and restricted movement.

  • Work with the spine, pelvis, neck and breath through deep, sensitive and precise touch.

  • Understand the role of breath regulation in releasing and balancing your clients’ breathing patterns.

  • Recognize the importance of the pelvis in grounding, balance, trust and structural support.

  • Use Myofascial Unwinding as a profound movement-based technique for emotional release and body integration.

  • Develop evaluation skills through body reading, self-reporting, palpation, resonance and intuition.

  • Use deep touch while maintaining healthy body mechanics and practitioner safety.

  • Cultivate a refined Listening Touch that supports tissue release, energy flow and deeper body awareness.

  • Experience and practice the eight-point teaching for deep touch developed by Satyarthi Peloquin.

  • Support clients to understand their own pain patterns and participate more consciously in their healing process.

A Holistic Approach to Myofascial Release

This training uses a holistic approach to myofascial release and deep bodywork.

Each day includes a combination of meditation, theory, practical demonstrations, supervised hands-on practice and bodywork exchanges. This creates a complete learning environment where technical skill, body awareness and personal experience develop together.

Rather than working only on local symptoms, MER looks at the body as a connected system. The back, neck, pelvis, diaphragm, breath and spine are understood as part of one living structure.

This is what makes the Self-Empowerment module such a powerful foundation for the full MER Training.

In this module, you will focus on major spinal and fascial hinge areas, including:

  • Lumbar-sacral area

  • Pelvis

  • Diaphragm

  • Heart area

  • Thoracic inlet

  • Atlas and occiput

  • Neck and upper spine

You will explore the structural and functional anatomy of the back, neck and pelvis, learning how these areas influence posture, breath, movement and pain patterns.

The training also introduces four effective breath release techniques to support clients in releasing tension, expanding awareness and reconnecting with the body.

The Self-Empowerment module teaches eight sensitive and effective deep bodywork points curated by Satyarthi Peloquin.

You will learn the eight-point teaching for deep touch, helping you perceive physical and emotional holding patterns with more depth, clarity and sensitivity.

This approach allows practitioners to work deeply without force, using body mechanics, presence and listening touch to create a safe and effective bodywork experience.
